AIs added to DR2

Ok well computers are busy a lot at the moment processing maps which means lots of time to write nonsense to the universe. Lucky you.

If you need to make bump maps for BobsTrackBuilder then check this out.

I've been trying to figure out how to make *decent* bump maps for rfactor using BTB. I've been generally pretty unimpressed with the bump-mapping I've seen in rf maps generally. Some of the cars do better but it's the exception rather than the norm. CORR has some nice bump mapping on the tyres but most of the levels seem to be sadly lacking , or it's so subtle you don't see it.

So basically I needed to know whether it was possible to make convincing/dramatic textures using the software workflow I've got (zmodeler>xpacker>btb>rf) or whether i was missing a tool for part of the process.

Decent offroad finally...

First credible example I've seen of proper offroading in a game...

ORR vs ORR2

I've been looking forward to getting time to have a play with the new ORR2 mod for rFactor for a little while now so was pleased when I finally got the chance the other day.

The new trucks look *superb*. Really nice and chunky with good texturing and nice modelling. There's various bits of bump mapping evident which really gives the vehicles more depth and realism. The modelling is nice and clean and their have a really solid look with very few excessively polygonal edges which is nice to see. The trucks in ORR were plenty decent but these are quite a bit more polished.

Ha!! I'm not the only one who drifts the ORR trucks

There I was thinking it was just me and seduck who enjoyed a bit of ORR drifting when I found this clip. Ok so it's not the eWDC finals but anyone getting ORR trucks sideways on tarmac gets my vote :)
